Another fabulous maternity shoot!

I am so blessed to get such beautiful clients and this family was no exception! They were so photogenic and great in front of the camera and mom just glowed! It was hard to take a bad picture of her! There are so many that I absolutely love! And I wanted to thank my good friend for lending me her backyard, which you will see is gorgeous! The perfect setting for such an intimate shoot. Towards the end we also moved over to the Potomac down off GW parkway towards Mt. Vernon.

For my photographer friends wondering about these next 2, this is all natural light and no vignetting was used either. I just found this small little patch of sunlight at dusk and got 2 of my favorite images! I am so excited about both of these...

Servio & Jackie: July 5, 2008

Ok, I'll try not to be too long winded about this wedding. I was able to shoot this wedding with Sally Brewer, one of my photography mentors and a good friend! It was just such a blast, laid back couple and gorgeous location out in western Virgina at The Inn at Fairfield Farm, Marriott Ranch! This will at least take 2 posts. So, this couple met while playing on an ultimate frisbee team in D.C. and they decided to incorporate this into their wedding as well! They gave out frisbee's as the party favors and had yard games all around their outdoor reception. I heard more than one person say it was one of the most fun and unique weddings they had been to. So, enjoy post one!

Happy 1st birthday!

The day I left for vacation I had the opportunity to photographic this sweet girl's 1st birthday party in the morning. She is adorable and such a ham (totally reminds me of Haley when she was 1) so it was so fun to be apart of their day. Here's a little preview for mom and dad! And keep checking back because I have a load of blogging to do. We ended up having 2 sunny days at the end of our trip so I have a few from that to share and some past weddings as well!

RAIN, RAIN GO AWAY!

Ok, so no need to be jealous. It has been raining since the moment we got here! The first day I thought, "Oh, it's ok. This will give us a day to recover", especially since Haley woke up with a fever that morning. The second day I thought "Hm, this kind of stinks, but it's ok, we'll just make it up tomorrow." Yesterday, I was still hopeful but today was the last straw. It has been pouring down rain for 4 days now, today being the worst day. Streets are flooded, we ended up in the Urgent Care center for both Haley and my sister (nothing serious) and we are SO SICK of being inside. Florida is NOT the best state to find indoor activities. One would assume that when you're in FL. you can be outside all day, but not for us! Anyway, below is a photo of what it looked like this morning when I woke up. You could just see the wall of rain headed our way and the next photo is pretty much what it looks like now. We can't even leave our condo b\c the roads are flooded. Arg...

Jealous???

I just had to share this photo! It's my view from the balcony on the 14th floor. Although we've had a lot of rain since we arrived it's BEAUTIFUL! Any guesses as to where I might be??? (If you already know, don't spill the beans!)

Part 2 & extra info...

Ok, here is part two of Gina's pictures which we did back at her house. We had lot of fun there too!
I also wanted to let everyone know that I will be on vacation starting tomorrow (Saturday, July 12) and all of next week. I'll start returning calls and emails on July 21st. Holy cow! Where has the summer gone!!! Just when I get used to it being June, July is almost over!

Oh Baby!

I had the privilege of documenting Gina's last little bit of pregnancy yesterday afternoon. She was up for just about anything so we had some fun! Gina is due at the beginning of Aug. and they are keeping what the baby is a surprise! (Can I just say, I am NOT a patient person so that drives me nuts! :-) Feel free to take a guess and once the baby arrives I'll make sure to come back and tell you what it is! I personally, think its a girl. Don't know why, just a feeling.
In the meantime, enjoy Gina's perfectly round belly! She looks fabulous!
