A family affair...

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting this very sweet family! With all the kids and grandkids together they wanted to take advantage of this time and have some family pictures done. The grandkids were so adorable and sweet and of course had very adoring grandparents! I had fun with you all, hope you all had fun too! Enjoy your preview.

It always does my heart good to see grandparents set a wonderful example of a loving marriage for their kids. These two are still so in love after more than 30 some years! So sweet...

Grant Wedding Slideshow...

This past weekend I was able to work with Inbal More Photography second shooting at a wedding in Baltimore at the Tremont Hotel. I had lots of favorites so I just decided to put them into a slideshow. I spent most of my time with the guys so this is "Guy" focused.
Enjoy!

Some out of the box photos....

So, I have to do one more post of my images with baby Lochlan. I tried some different, more artsy stuff with Mike and Nicole, since they were good friends and I didn't worry about then thinking I was nuts when asking if I could lay they're baby on a platter on the kitchen table. :-) Nothing too crazy, just some different images than I normally do and I'm loving how they came out!

Day Two...

The first day that I did the Carlisle family it was a little cold and gloomy, so I went back yesterday (with the 24mm 1.4 lens that I'm trying out) and did some more family pictures outside and Brixton's 1 year old pictures! Dad is a first year medical resident and usually isn't home at night so we thought we weren't going to be able to get these, but not only was it a gorgeous night but dad also got home early! We got some great sunset shots. Check out Brixon's big baby blues! And check back b\c I'm also going to post some more artsy pictures of baby brother Lochlan that I just love and have to share!

The hazards of shooting a newborn...

Especially boys! We always know there's a chance of this happening but we always soldier on! Sorry Mike!

The newest addition....

I'm in KS. to photograph the newest addition to my college roommate, Nicole's family! Lochlan was born May 1st, exactly one month after his older brother turned one! So, needless to say Nicole has her hands full but is doing such a great job! So, take a look at the adorable Lochlan and his big brother Brixton!

Ethan in the park...

Ethan, normally a bubbly silly boy decided to show his more serious, GQ side in the park during our photo session the other day. Funny how they just know when you want them to smile and decide to do the opposite! But, we still had fun! Get a look at these baby blues!

Rain, Rain!

We've had a lot of rain here in D.C. lately and today I decided rather than complaining about it to look on the bright side! I've been thinking a lot about making sure I continue to take pictures of what I love, of what got me into this business in the first place! One of those things is Haley! I can't let myself get stale by only taking pictures when I'm paid to. I was reminded of this a couple of days ago at a workshop I went to. You have to keep fresh by getting out there and forcing yourself to get creative! So, I asked Haley if she wanted to go puddle jumping today and of course, being 2, she thought that was the best idea EVER! So, I rain-proofed my camera and out we went! We had the best time and it was so nice to just let loose and have fun and forget about the mound of work and things I had to do at home. You only live once, don't waste your time on things that don't matter. What needs to get done will get done, but make time for some fun in your life before it's too late and your life has passed you by!

Also, I will be out of town from Saturday - Wednesday. I'm off to KS. to take pictures of my best friends newest addition, Lochlan! You'll be meeting him soon! I'll be checking email periodically but will be sure to catch up on everything by the following Monday. Have a great weekend and enjoy the pictures from our adventure today! (Sorry, there were so many fun ones that I had a hard time narrowing them down!)

How many pictures do you having lying around...

How often do you order pictures and then leave them lying around for months? I have to admit that I do the same thing. A good friend of mine, Betsey, does custom framing in such an easy, convenient way! Just call her up and let her know what you need, order it and you're finished! Betsey is also offering a special mothers day discount! Here a little note from her about what it entails:

Friends,
In honor of Mother's Day, I am going to offer a special this month on custom framing. For all new customers who are mothers, I will give 15% off the framing package price, and for previous customers I will be giving 25% off the framing package price. To receive the discount, orders must be in the month of May, and payment must be by check. In addition, if you host a framing party in the month of May, you will receive the above discount PLUS 15% of your guests' total off your own order. It only takes 3-4 people to qualify as a party, and they may be "playdate style" with children present.
I encourage you to check out the Everyday Display boards, which are gorgeous! They are pictured Here!
If you are interested in getting a picture or art peice framed and would like a cost estimate, feel free to e-mail me with the dimensions.
Have a lovely and blessed day!
